DNS Server encountered SLAVE directive without preceeding FORWARDERS list, in file filename, line number.
If you plan to designate this DNS server as a slave you must define a forwarder to interface with the slave. The error message says that a slave has been defined in the DNS boot file without a forwarder. Either delete or comment out the slave parameter from the boot file, or define a forwarder to use with it.
To edit the boot file: 1. In Windows Explorer, go to the Systemroot\System32\Dns folder. 2. Double-click the boot file, and then select Notepad to open it. 3. Scroll down to the Slave command. 4. Delete or disable the Slave command, or add a forwarder above it. For example: Forwarders 192.249.249.1 192.249.249.2 Slave -or- ;Slave
