You cannot quit Windows because the Save As dialog box in Notepad is open. Switch to Notepad, close this dialog box, and then try quitting Windows again.
Windows 2000 will not shut down while the Save As dialog box in Notepad is open.
In Notepad, close the Save As dialog box, then try shutting Windows 2000 down.
