The modem (or other connecting device) was disconnected due to hardware failure.
The link disconnected for one of the following reasons: ò An unrecoverable error occurred in your modem (or other communication device). ò An unrecoverable error occurred on your communications port. ò Your modem cable is unplugged.
To diagnose and correct the problem, do the following: ò Make sure your modem is on and your cable is securely attached. ò Make sure your modem is functioning properly. For instructions on testing your modem, see To test a modem.
