Check the format of the specified IP address. IP addresses must be entered in a dotted decimal format. Use the ping utility to validate the address.
Edit the IP address in the specified file: 1. In Windows 2000 Explorer, go to the Systemroot\System32\Dns directory. 2. Double-click the specified file, and select Notepad to open it. 3. Type a valid IP address on the specified line. 4. Save and close the database file. 5. Stop and restart the DNS server service.
