DHCP | System | 1012 | Error |
During the process of renewing an Internet Protocol (IP) address lease, the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client sent a DHCPDECLINE message back to the DHCP server declining the IP address. The client declined the address because it received a DHCPACK from the server with the wrong configuration parameters.
No user action is needed. The DHCP server responds to the DHCPDECLINE message with a DHCPNAK message. This response forces the client to release its current IP address and return to its initializing state. The client then attempts to lease a new IP address from the server.
