Holding
down the the Alt key while modifying or drawing connectors gives you full control of
positioning vertices of a connector and also allows you to modify or draw the connectors
diagonally.
Connecting a Cable Inside the Rack
- In the Symbol Explorer, click the Cables folder.
Click the Power symbol while pressing and holding the Ctrl key;
click twice on the drawing sheet to the left side of the rack to place two power cables.
Right mouse click to reset the command.
- Select both power cables, and click the Line
Color button. Change the color of the power cables to red.
- Click one of the cables so that it is
highlighted.
- Move the pointer to one of the power connector
end points (black square dot). Press and hold while you move the mouse to modify the
connector.
- Press the Alt key while you drag the connector
end point to the first of the two PowerHub 7000 Power Supplies. Release the connector when
the drop point (red circle) and the M-Power Socket tooltip appear.
- Use the mouse to modify the other end point of the connector cable to
connect to the first outlet of the rack mount power strip. Release the connector when the
drop point (red circle) and the F-Power Socket tool tip appear.
- Continue modifying the connector until the alignment appears correct.
Connecting Cable from Patch Panel to Wallplate
- Scroll the window to the right side of the rack.
- In the Cables folder of the Symbol Explorer,
click the Cat-5 Twister Pair symbol while pressing and holding the Ctrl key. Click
four times to the right side of the rack to place four cables.
- Select all of the Cat-5 cables, and change
their color to blue.
- Modify each of the four blue Cat-5 cables, one
at a time, pressing and holding the Alt key while you modify the cables.
- Use the mouse to modify the end points to
connect from the 1100 CAT 5 Modular Patch Panel 32-Port to the top mid-point (key point)
of the wallplates.
When
you connect to key points, there are no tooltips displayed.
One end point of each Cat-5 cable is connected to the patch panel,
and the other end point is connected to the top mid-point (key point) of the wallplates.
Connecting Cable from Wallplate to MiniTowers
- Scroll the window left and below the 3-port wallplate.
- In the Cables folder of the Symbol Explorer,
click the Cat-5 Twister Pair symbol while pressing and holding the Ctrl key. Click three
times to the right side of the rack to place three cables.
- Select all of the Cat-5 cables, and change
their color to blue.
- Click one of the blue cables.
- Use the mouse to modify the end points to
connect from the 3-Port wallplate to the top mid-point (key point) of the three
minitowers. Release the connector when the drop point (red circle) and the F-RJ45 tooltip
appear on the wallplate.
Press
and hold the Alt key while you modify the cables.
- Continue modifying the connector until the alignment appears correct.
When
you connect to key points, there are no tooltips displayed.
Connecting the Printer to the Tower Server
- Zoom the area around the DesignJet Printer and the Tower
Server.
- Use the mouse to modify the free end point of
the Printer Cable to connect to the top of the Tower Server.
- Continue modifying the connector until
alignment appears correct.
