  1. In the Cables folder, drag the Type Label symbol to the drawing sheet, and continue to press and hold.

NoteTo select a drag point, press the up or down arrow key on the keyboard.

NoteTo rotate the label 90 degrees, press the right or left arrow key on the keyboard.

Continuing to press and hold, move the label close to the connector until the connector turns red. Then release the label. The value is displayed in the label.

  1. Click the connector so that it is highlighted.

In the Attribute viewer, click the Type field.

Type Printer Cable, and press Enter.

The label and the type attribute on the cable change.

  1. In the Printers folder, drag the Label (left) symbol to the lower-left corner of the printer.

When a red dot appears, release the symbol to label the printer.

Once the symbol is labeled, click the green lock handle, and reposition the label.

NoteTo label the printer or any of the network equipment symbols (except for Cable symbols that are dragged as connectors), you must drag the label to the lower-left corner point.

NoteYou can reposition the symbol with the connector still connected and the labels in place. Move the pointer over the placed symbol. A green concentric circle in the lower-left corner is displayed. Left-click inside the symbol border, and drag it to its new location.

  1. With the symbol selected, in the Attribute Viewer, type a location such as B30-Room136.
