1. On the File menu, click New.

When you start the software, a new document is displayed. This document is based on the NORMAL.IGR template and has a drawing sheet. Templates are the starting point for creating a document. A template is a file that provides tools such as text, formats, geometry, dimensions, units of measurement, and styles that apply specified formats to elements in the drawing. The template that you use depends on the type of information you want to put in the document. For this lesson we will use the Network Diagram template.

2. On the File New dialog, expand the General Diagramming template folder and select the Network Diagram (Imperial).igr template. Click Ok to create the document.

The browser path points to where the symbols are located. If you did not load the symbols during setup you may either have to insert the product CD-ROM back into the drive or reconnect the drive from which you installed the product.

3. On the main toolbar, click the Zoom In button.
   
   
4. Place the cursor two large grid squares from the left border and two and a half grid squares from the top border. Click one time to zoom in.
   
   
5. Right click to reset the command.
