Numerical Error Codes

Explanation: The error codes are hexadecimal values representing issues that prevent Internet Scanner from operating.

Remedy: If you encounter any of these errors while using Internet Scanner, you can analyze the Event Log of the scanning host to discover what caused the error. If you are unable to correct the problem using the information contained within the Event Log, use the procedure below to save the application event log and e-mail the file to ISS Support.

To send the event log to ISS Support, follow these steps:

  1. Send an e-mail to support@iss.net briefly stating the issue and requesting an incident number.

  2. From the Windows NT Start menu, select ProgramsISS_NT00000000.gifAdministrative Tools (Common)ISS_NT00000000.gifEvent Viewer.

  3. From the Log menu, click Save As to display the Save As dialog box.

  4. Type the incident number that has been assigned to this problem. The .evt extension will be added automatically.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Insert the file as an attachment to an e-mail message and send it to support@iss.net.
