Internet Scanner provides you with the option to view Web pages embedded in the Vulnerability Information window or to view Web pages outside of Internet Scanner using the Windows NT default Web browser.
Important: Using the browser-enabled Vulnerability Information window, which is a DLL, to view Web pages, increases the possibility of a security breach in Internet Scanner. Using an external Web browser to view Web pages, prevents you from downloading malicious content that may corrupt the Internet Scanner executable.
The first time you click an external URL link (http, ftp) in the Vulnerability Information window, the Configure a Web browser for Internet-related URLs dialog box appears for you to configure the Web browser options for Internet Scanner.
Choose one of the following options for configuring your Web browser to view Web pages:
Use the Web browser embedded in the Vulnerability Information window
Change the default security settings enabled for your Web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator)
