New Session Wizard - Command Line

The Command Line dialog box lets you use Internet ScannerÆs user interface to enter host options in the same syntax used by the command-line version of Internet Scanner. This option is helpful if you need to scan hosts that cannot return pings (such as hosts that reside behind a firewall). Using this option ensures that such hosts are scanned if the ôSelect Scan if Ping Failsö option is selected.

This option is also useful if you plan to routinely scan small subsets of your network. You can specify particular subsets of hosts no matter where they reside in your domain.

Enter the hosts you want to scan or select from the list. Any host files (*.hst) found in the Scanner directory are displayed in the list. Host lists must be entered in a special format.

Load Values From Key: Loads the allowed scanning range into the edit control from the selected key. If a key contains several ranges, it may be easier to edit the ranges than to type them in manually.
