Finger
A Unix command used to find information about a particular user, such as an
affiliation, a telephone number, whether the user is currently logged on, or the
last time the user logged on. The person being fingered must have entered a
profile on the system. Profiles can serve as a method of social introduction or to
state particular job responsibilities.
