Check or Attack Name: Sunlink Mapper

The sunlink mapper service was detected as running. The sunlink_mapper service is a part of the SunLink X.400 implementation for connecting normal SMTP-MIME mail systems to X.400 networks. The sunlink_mapper process registers itself with the RPC portmapper as program 100033. This service should be disabled if you do not use the SunLink X.400 implementation on your network.

Disable the sunlink mapper service if it is not needed.

To disable the service, follow these steps:

1. Edit the /etc/inetd.conf (or equivalent) file.
2. Locate the line that controls the daemon.
3. Type a # at the beginning of the line to comment out the daemon.
4. Restart inetd.
