Check or Attack Name: rquotad

The rquotad service was detected as running. rquotad is an RPC server that returns quotas for a user of a local file system mounted by a remote machine over the NFS. The rquotad daemon is normally invoked by inetd.

Disable the rquotad service if it is not needed.

To disable the service, follow these steps:

1. Edit the /etc/inetd.conf (or equivalent) file.
2. Locate the line that controls the daemon.
3. Type a # at the beginning of the line to comment out the daemon.
4. Restart inetd.
