Installation Instructions
-------------------------

 ESW Software Cobra 3.0 can be installed and should run on the following platforms:
  WindowsCE
  PalmOS
  Windows95/98/Me/NT/2000
  Internet Browser: any Java capable Internet Browser
  Java Platform: any other Java capable system, such as Linux and generic Unix systems

WindowsCE Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------

 Install Waba Virtual Machine for your device CPU, MIPS or SH3, using the
 files and instructions contained in wabavm-wince-mips.10.zip or
 wabavm-wince-sh3.10.zip files.

 On your WindowsCE device create "\Program Files\Cobra" directory. Copy
 "Cobra.prc" file to this directory. Copy the "Cobra.lnk" file to
 "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games" directory.

 Start ESW Software Cobra 3.0 from the device "Start\Programs\Games" menu.

PalmOS Installation Instructions
--------------------------------

 Install Waba Virtual Machine for your device using the files and instructions
 contained in wabavm-palm.10b.zip file.

 Install Cobra.prc and Cobra.pdb files using the Pilot install tool that comes
 as part of the Pilot desktop.

 To start ESW Software Cobra 3.0, press the Applications button to look at the
 list of installed programs. Clicking on the Cobra application will start the game.

Windows95/98/Me/NT/2000 Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------------

 Copy Cobra.zip, Cobra.bat and CobraWin.lnk to any directory.

 To start ESW Software Cobra 3.0, run CobraCE.bat or CobraPalm.Bat, or double-click
 on CobraCE or CobraPalm shortcuts.

Internet Browser Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------------

 Copy Cobra.zip and Cobra.htm files to any directory or your Web site.

 To start ESW Software Cobra 3.0, open Cobra.htm with your Internet Browser.

 WARNING: due to Java applet security features, game options and scores will
  be reset if you reload the game page.

Java Platform Installation Instructions
--------------------------------------

 Copy Cobra.zip to any directory.

 To start ESW Software Cobra 3.0, use the following console command:

  java -classpath Cobra.zip;<*> waba.applet.Applet esw.waba.cobra.Cobra

 Where: <*> is your installation Classes directory or file.

Game Instructions
-----------------

 Game playing instructions can be found on Cobra.htm file.

Known Problems
--------------

 Some applications set a value to the environment variable CLASSPATH, if this
 happens you may not be able to run the game from command line or browser. Try
 to use CobraCE.bat or CobraPalm.bat, where a SET CLASSPATH= statement was
 added to clear CLASSPATH valiable or clear it yourself.

 On some versions of Sun java runtime, the keyboard presses are not catched by
 the game, try to upgrade your version or use Microsoft jview.

Tested Configurations
---------------------

 The game was tested on WindowsCE 2.11 (Compaq Aero 2130 device),
 PalmOS 3.1.1 (3Com Palm IIIe), Windows98, WindowsME, WindowsNT 4.0, Microsoft
 Internet Explorer 5.0 and 5.5 and Netscape Communicator 4.7 .

 New gold pots on the game field give more points and add obstructing blocks
 to improve gaming challenge.

 Higher difficulty levels give more points per mouse eaten.

 Now you can register your software copy.

Changes Added on Version 2.2
----------------------------

 Now you can steer the Cobra by touching or clicking on the game field.

 Turn option does not affect game screen direction buttons.

 Mice created at the Cobra tail does not disappear from screen.

 Page-up and page-down keys on PalmOS work as up and down keys on WindowsCE.
