    Nutria Overview
Maintaining a healthy body partially involves eating a proper diet. Nutria replaces pen and paper tracking of daily nutritional intake with an easy to use application specifically designed for a Palm Pilot or Handspring Visor. Using database technology, Nutria will calculate and track the daily nutrition facts (see Table 1 for complete list) of user defined foods to accurately monitor consumption throughout each day. The interface is designed to read as easy as the Nutrition Facts found on food labels. In addition, Nutria can easily recall a previous day's consumption or calculate total consumption values for a specific date range. This tool is ideal for athletes, and their trainers, dietitions, weight conscience individuals, and those concerned with their overall nutritional intake.

    Purchasing Nutria
As a DEMO version of Nutria, there are functional limitations in place that are not present in the Full version. To purchase a licensed Full version of Nutria visit the DigiObjects web site today.

Getting Information About Your Demo Version
From the Nutria application, prompt the menu bar to appear and go to 'Help' then select 'About Nutria'. This will provide information about the current version and contact information.

    II. Installing and Removing Nutria

    Installing Nutria
The file Nutria2.prc must be installed onto a handheld, running Palm OS version 3.1 or later, using Palm's Desktop Software. To begin this task, open the Palm Desktop Software and click 'Install'. From within the Install window click 'Add' to select the Nutria application. Once the Nutria2.prc file has been located on the PC, press 'Open' then press 'Done'. The message on screen will indicate that the selected application will be transferred to the handheld during the next HotSync.

Once the file is installed onto the handheld, locate and click the Nutria icon to run the application. To file Nutria under a specific category, prompt the menu bar from the Applications screen, press 'App' then select 'Categoryà'. Locate Nutria in the application list and use the popup list to set the new category.

NOTICE TO ALL USERS: If this application is an upgrade from a demo version, it is recommended that the demo be removed from your handheld's RAM prior to any new installations.

    Create the Databases
When Nutria is first launched, a message prompt will appear indicating that the required database files, to store daily consumption and foods, need to be created. Click 'Yes' (recommended) to create the databases or 'Cancel' to exit immediately - without the daily log database present Nutria will not run. The databases can be removed at a later time using one of the database tools (see Removing Nutria, Removing the Log Database, or Removing the Foods Database).

    Removing Nutria
If an installed version of Nutria needs to be removed from a handheld, there are three files that should be cleared from RAM (Random Access Memory): one is the application file and other two are the database files. To remove the Nutria databases only, use the Tools 'Remove Log DB' and 'Remove Foods DB' that are built into the application. To begin this process, prompt the Nutria menu bar to be displayed and go to 'Tools' then select the database(s). A message box will appear requesting verification prior to completing this irreversible action. Once the Logs database file has been erased, Nutria will automatically exit.

When both the Nutria application and databases are to be removed from the handheld's RAM, a hard-reset is required (see Palm Desktop Software Help topic "Installing and Removing Applications on Your Handheld"). Be aware that a hard-reset will clear all RAM of information, applications, and files currently stored on the handheld. To backup and then selectively restore the data in RAM, follow the instructions provided with Palm Desktop Software.
