Thank you!

for unpackaging Time Traveler V2.9 with Time Place V3.0 - The World in your Palm

This introduction should take approximately 5 minutes to read.

About the Demonstration

The demonstration is constrained as follows:
  • no new places can be entered into Time Place;
  • the Time Place database is a subset (25%) of what is available in the purchasable product;
  • there is no mechanism to receive updates of the Time Place database as they become available; and
  • Time Book, Time Place and Time Travel will expire after 28 days.
  • To receive the fully featured version please click on this or contact us if you have questions.

    Installation

Install all of the files inside the 'Install' directory.

When the files are installed on your device launch the program named 'Setup.prc' to complete the installation. 'Setup.prc' is required for installation purposes only and will be automatically removed.

For information on how to install software on your device please refer to its documentation.

Please read the Quick Start section to avoid commonly asked questions.

We hope that you enjoy our software and are productive with it!

    Quick Start

    General

Use the menu icon to explore Time Traveler's additional functionality. The menu icon is the bottom left hand graphic next to where you write alphabetic letters on your device.

Additionally an 'i' will appear in the top right hand corner of some windows. Tapping on the 'i' will reveal more information about the window's related functions.

    World Time at a Glance

We recommend that you associate Time Place with a button infrequently used on your Palm device e.g. the 'To-Do' button. World time at a glance is then only ever one button away. You can customize buttons by using the 'Buttons' category within the 'Prefs' application of your device.

Another advantage to associating Time Place with a button is that button presses toggle between Time Travel and Time Place - two programs that we know you will use a great deal when traveling.

To use the Time Calculator use the + - = icon at the bottom of the screen. Changing the time and date in the Time Calculator has no effect on the system time and date.

    PC Calendar Integration

If you use MS Outlook (or other desktop/network based calendars) when traveling then you will want to:
  • tap on the 'All Date Book Entries' of Time Book's preferences.
  • uncheck 'Show actual arrival time in the Date Book' of Time Travel's preferences.
  • Doing so will ensure that appointments are presented correctly to desktop/network based calendars.

    Entering Itineraries

By default Time Travel will enter and display times in system format. You can change this default by selecting a time format of your choice in Time Travel's preferences.

Also note that you can only modify itineraries via Time Travel even though they appear in the Palm Date Book. This is mainly because an itinerary item in Time Travel may span multiple Palm Date Book entries.

Time Zones and the Palm Date Book

Use Time Book to supplement Palm Date Book appointments with time zone information. Appointments can be created, modified or deleted in either the Time Book or the Palm Date Book.

    Removal

This product can be easily removed by installing and running the 'Uninstall' program provided in the 'Uninstall' directory. The program must be installed on your device.

The Uninstaller will leave behind data associated with Time Traveler. This is so that you can easily re-install other versions of Time Traveler if needed. To remove data as well, delete the following databases from your device using the 'Delete' menu of the Application Launcher (Note: not all of these may exist):

  • TTBKDB
  • TTPLCA
  • TTPLDB
  • TTPLLL
  • TTRVDB
