Win32 Parallel v1.2 Installation Instructions Instructions

Launch the Pv1.2.exe.... Install the software in the recommended program files directory. The three fonts supplied are used by some of the classes for various random font techniques. Dump these in your windows/fonts directory for the app to use them...otherwise the fonts will use the boring default windows fonts. Once the program is started a white screen covers the desktop. Right mouse click on the white screen and 'Activate MIDI'on the pop up menu.

In order to trigger the software, a MIDI input device of some description must be connected via the hardware MIDI input in the PC's sound card or via a USB to MIDI converter.
Note that it is not possible to trigger the app. using a software MIDI input such as Hubby's loop back etc. The www.softsynth.com MIDI api is quite dated but it works as opposed to the Sun standard MIDI api which has received mixed reviews.

Shapes are added via all the white keys between C2 and B3. Control over the movement/ colour /texture/degree of randomness can be controlled via velocity values (i.e. how hard you hit the key) of all pitches. Playing with the notes/shapes via velocity can yeild favourable results. Sources are available for anyone would like to develop it further. So don't be shy.
