Other Remote Data Service Configuration Information

After you install Remote Data Service, you may need to configure someother system settings. When the data source is on a computer that is different from the application Web server, the Web server computer needs to have guest privileges on the data source computer if it is running Windows NT®.

To grant guest privileges to a Web server computer

1. On the Windows NT® data source computer, click Start, point to Programs, and click Administrative Tools.
   
   
2. Run User Manager for Domains.
   
   
3. On the User menu, click Select Domain. Enter the current computer name, and click OK.
   
   
4. In the lower window, double-click the Guests group and click Add to add the computer name account, which by default would be IUSR_MYWEBSVR (where MYWEBSVR is the name of your Web server).
