You can create console windows to support an administrative task. Each window can provide a different view required to complete a task. For example, you can use one window to display a snap-in required to change settings. In another window, you can display a Web page that provides manufacturer information or program updates. In a third window, you can display a monitor control to provide information about current system performance.
You can copy existing windows or create windows that use an alternative node as the root node. After you create the windows required to complete an administrative task, you can discard or minimize the window with the console root and just keep the views required to perform the administrative tasks. You can also close the left (scope) pane in any window such that just the settings, Web page, or control is displayed in a window.
