Extending Snap-ins

Some snap-ins have extensions to provide additional functionality. Snap-in extensions can be delivered with the snap-in, provided by another vendor, or created by the user. They can add nodes to the namespace or extend existing nodes with new menus, toolbars, property pages, wizards, or Help. You need to add a snap-in to a console before you can make its extensions available.

1. On the Console menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
2. Click the Extensions tab.
3. In Snap-ins that can be extended, enter the snap-in you want to extend.
4. Under Available Extensions, click the extension you want, and then click OK.
