Microsoft NNTP Service for IIS 4.0 pdrovides Windows NT Performance Monitor counters to measure responsiveness and asssist you in troubleshooting your NNTP sites.
Performance Monitor counters monitor the activity of objects, which are specific services or mechanisms that control server resources. For example, if you view the object called NNTP Server, you can see counters that monitor the bytes received per second or the connection attempts per second. In addition, each object can have many instances. Each instance of the NNTP Server object corresponds to a separate NNTP site.
In addition to the Microsoft NNTP Service object counters presented here, you might also want to monitor counters for objects that measure system capacity. These include the Logical Disk object (% Disk Time counter), the Memory object (Available Bytes counter), and the System object (% Total Processor Time counter). For more information on increasing performance using Performance Monitor, see the Windows NT Server documentation.
Microsoft NNTP Service maintains counters under two objects: NNTP Server and NNTP Commands.
