If you are having problems with Microsoft NNTP Service, check Event Viewer for error messages. Microsoft NNTP Service writes a message to the System log in Event Viewer each time the service starts and stops, an operator command is processed, or an error is detected.
Even if you are not currently having problems with the service, you should check Event Viewer periodically for error messages about potentially troublesome conditions you have not yet noticed.
You can make it easier to find Microsoft NNTP Service messages by filtering the messages in Event Viewer.
For a complete list of all event messages that can be written by Microsoft NNTP Service, see Windows NT Events for Microsoft NNTP Service.
