Use this page to set up how news is exchanged between the selected server and another specific server.
When you click OK, you can enable and configure the news feed just added.
Feed Server Name
Provides a space to type the name of the remote server that is sending or receiving articles.
Feed Server Type
Specifies the type of server associated with the feed server.
My Peer
Designates the remote server type as a peer. Select this if the remote server
does not share article numbers with this server.
My Slave
Designates the remote server type as a slave. Select this if the remote server services
clients and forwards all posted articles to the server that is being configured for replication.
The server being configured assigns numbers to all articles and services all peer feeds.
My Master
Designates the remote server type as a master. Select this if the remote server
generates all article numbers for the server that is being configured.
The remote server provides all articles and must be the only feed server configured.
Feed Server Action
Specifies the actions associated with the feed server.
Accept An Incoming Feed From The Server
Select this option to accept a feed from the server specified in the Feed Server Name box.
This option disables the Schedule control.
Pull An Incoming Feed From The Server
Select this option to pull incoming newsgroup articles from the feed server
by using the "newnews" NNTP command. Not all servers allow the "newnews" command.
This option is disabled if My Slave or My Master are selected for Feed Server Type.
Push An Outgoing Feed To The Server
Select this option to push a feed to the feed server.
Unique Path ID Generated By Feed Server
Provides a space to type the unique path ID. This name is inserted in every post by the specified server. This name is usually the DNS name of the feeding server or another unique name determined by the administrator of the remote machine.
Pull Request Time
Displays the starting date and time of the feed, using 24-hour time. To change, type a new date and time. (The Pull Request Time value can only be changed when setting up a new pull feed.)
