In this dialog you can export your presentations and drawings or selected objects in certain graphic formats suited for publishing in the Internet.

Define various settings for the page format here, such as paper orientation, page numbering, and margins. By default, new pages are assigned an appropriate format according to the screen resolution.

Fit to size

Here you can define whether to retain the order of drawing elements if the paper format is modified.

If you select this option, each time the page size is modified, all objects between the page margins are rearranged to retain the page layout.


Navigator


This command turns the Navigator on or off. The Navigator is especially useful for editing long documents. You can use the Navigator, for example, to jump to a certain slide in an extensive presentation, or quickly switch between open documents. The Navigator is a dockable window.

Live Mode

Click this icon to switch the Live Mode on or off during a presentation (the Navigator must be visible). In the Live Mode you can access all open toolbars and can then edit or move any objects on the current slide, assign special effects, or even create new objects.

Determine whether to retain the size of the original object, or to insert the copy as a reduced or enlarged object.

Define the width of the copy to be inserted.

Define the height of the copy to be inserted.

Define the color of the first inserted object.

Define the color of the last inserted object.


Delete Slide


Use this command to delete the current slide (with delete confirmation).

This command deletes the current layer, after you confirm a delete warning.


Morphing


Here you can morph two draw objects according to a speciifed number of increments.

Increments

Specify the number of increments for the object morphing in this spin box.

Fade object attributes

Check this box to retain the object attributes (e.g., line and object fill color) when morphing.

Same orientation

If you check this box, objects are morphed in the same rotation direction. Otherwise, the rotation occurs in opposite directions.


Modify Field


Edit the format of inserted date, time, author, page number and file name fields here. The cursor must be positioned directly before the field.

Field type

The field type is displayed here, and can be converted to a different function.

Fixed

A "fixed" field function defines the date and time according to when the field was inserted.

Variable

A "variable" field function updates the contents each time the screen display is redrawn.

Format

In this list box you can select the desired format for the field.

Use this command to turn the Option bar on or off.

Use this command to hide or show the rulers at the edges of the work area.

Drawing


This command activates the draw mode.


Outline


This function activates the Outline view. In the Outline view you can enter the headings for the individual slides in your presentation. Additionally, by restructuring the outline, you can rearrange the order of the slides. You can also modify the outline level of the entries. The icons in the Text Object bar Promote, Demote, Move Up and Move Down are used to modify the outline structure, or you can simply make changes directly via drag & drop. The text at the first outline level corresponds to the main heading on each slide. The corresponding slide number is indicated next to each slide icon, except for text in level 0.


Slide Sort


Choose this command to switch to the slide sort mode. In this mode, the slides in a presentation are displayed in reduced size, enabling an overview so that you can check the order of the slides, and rearrange them if necessary.

Select this command to activate the notes mode.

Choose this command to activate the handouts mode.

This command starts a slide show presentation. You can specify various settings under Tools - Presentation Settings...

Display Quality


Select one of the three options in this submenu to determine whether or not the document is displayed in color.

Color

If your presentation contains colored backgrounds, fonts or other objects, select this option to display the respective colors.

Grayscale

If you prefer a grayscale display quality, select this option. All colors will be portrayed as shades of gray. The gray intensity varies depending on the base color.

Black and White

Select this option for a black and white display; without colors or grayscales.


Insert Slide


If you select this command, a dialog appears where you can choose a predefined layout for a new slide.

Name

Enter the name for the new slide in this field.

Choose the desired slide layout here. The content of the selected layout is listed below.

Display

Here you can define if you want to display a background with the corresponding objects in the work area.

Background

Check this box if you want the background used in the layout to be displayed in the work area.

Objects on background

Check this box if you want all draw objects on the background to be displayed in the work area.


Insert Layer


Insert an additional draw layer in the current document.


Name

Assign a name for the new layer.

If this check box is selected, any draw elements arranged on the layer will be displayed on the screen, as well.

Check this box to print the draw elements arranged on the layer.

Locked

Choose this option if you want to prevent the draw elements on the layer from being edited.

In the context menu of a snap object, you can find commands for moving or deleting snap lines and points.

Deletes the current snap point or line.

Inserts a spreadsheet at the center of the current slide.

In this area of the Insert Pages/Objects dialog, choose which specific parts of the file you want to insert in your document.

Check this box to insert the pages as links, which are automatically updated if changes are made to the original file.

This command creates a copy of the current slide.

Use this command to create additional slides from the outline.


Summary Slide


Use this command to create summary slide with the titles of the individual slides in the presentation.


Date (fixed)


This command inserts the current date as a field. The date will not be updated.

To edit the formatting of a field, place the cursor directly before the field and select the Edit - Fields command.


Date (variable)


This command inserts the current date as a variable, which is updated every time the document view is renewed.


Time (fixed)


Inserts the current time as text in the document. The time will not be updated.

Here you can insert the current time as a variable field, which is updated every time the document view is renewed.


File name


Inserts the name of the active document as a field. If the document has not been savedrespectively savedrespectively saved(Depends on platform) , the file name field remains empty.


Style Catalog


In this dialog you can create, modify and apply various styles. In addition, you can organize all styles applied in the current document.

All settings made in this dialog are considered soft formatting. The Stylist offers the same functions, with the exception of organizing styles in documents.

All existing styles of the selected style type are listed here, and the currently applied style is selected. To choose another style, simply select the desired style in the list.

Use the commands in the context menu to define a new style, delete a custom style, or modify the selected style.

Style Category

To provide a clear overview, the predefined styles are arranged according to style categories. Select a different style category for the current style type if the desired style is not listed.

All Styles

Displays all styles of the current style type.

Applied Styles

Displays all styles of the selected style type applied in the current document.

Custom Styles

Displays all user-defined styles of the current style type.

Hierarchical

Displays all styles of the current style type in hierarchical structure, similar to the directory structure of your hard drive. To view a sublevel in the hierarchy, click the plus sign next to the respective style name.


New...

Click this button to open the Object Styles dialog with the corresponding dialog pagesrespectively tabs(Depends on platform) .

Modify...

Click this button to modify the selected style or view the current settings.

If Object Styles are selected, the Object Styles dialog appears, as with the context menu command New.

If Presentation Styles are selected, the dialog varies according to the type of selected object, i.e., Background, Background Objects, Title, Outline 1 -9 and Notes.

Delete...

Deletes the selected style after a confirmation warning. Only custom styles may be deleted.

Organizer...

Click this button to open the Document Templates dialog. Here you can copy the styles applied in the current document to other documents, or vice versa.

With the aid of the Stylist, you can apply styles to objects and organize the various styles.

This command sets the course of the connector back to the original position.

Custom Slide Show


With this command you can define and start a custom slide show designed from the slides of the current presentation. You can define an unlimited number of custom shows - they are automatically saved with the current document.

How to define a background for a single slide


To define various backgrounds, you need to create several master pages. If you assign a new master page for a slide, you can edit the background of this slide separately from the other slides.

The current slide is automatically a copy of this master page, and you can now assign a new background.
