To create your own CD

Click Copy to CD or Device.

On the File menu, point to Copy, and then click Copy to Audio CD.
In the Items to Copy pane, select the playlist or category of tracks that you want to copy from Media Library.
To create or change a playlist of items to copy to the device, click the Playlists button .
The number of selected items and total time is displayed at the bottom of the Items to Copy pane.
If necessary, clear any check boxes for tracks you do not want to copy.
Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW in your CD-ROM drive.
If necessary when using a CD-RW disc, click the Delete button to erase the compact disc.
If you want to change recording or data CD settings, click the Properties button .
In the Items on Device pane, click one of the following:
- Audio CD (available only on Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional)
- Data CD (available only on Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional)
- HighMAT CD (available only on Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional)
- Roxio CD Burning (available only on Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and Windows 2000)
Before tracks are copied to your CD, they are inspected and, in some cases, converted to a file type. This process takes several minutes.
Click Copy.

Playback may be affected if you try to play an audio CD while also burning a CD. It is recommended that you do not try to perform any other actions while burning a CD.
You cannot copy additional tracks to the CD after copying is completed. If you are using a CD-RW, you can erase the entire CD before using the Player to copy tracks to the CD again.
Tracks must be on your computer or in Media Library before you can copy them to a CD. Click the check box at the top of the list to clear or select all the items in the Items to Copy pane. By default, all the tracks in the pane are selected.
You can rearrange the order of the tracks in the Items to Copy pane by dragging them to the position in which you want them to be copied.
If Will not fit appears in the Status column in the Items to Copy pane for selected tracks, none of the tracks are not copied to the CD. Will not fit appears in the Status column for audio CDs even if the audio you selected exactly matches the CD length because the Player inserts seconds (spaces) between the tracks that it copies onto a CD.
The Player automatically converts a multichannel audio file to a stereo file (a process known as folding down) when you copy it to a portable device or CD.
The ability to create data CDs, erase CDs, and change recording or data CD settings is only available on select versions of Windows. For more information, see Special features.
