You can view information about your CD in the Now Playing, Copy from CD, or Media Library features. When you play a CD, Windows Media Player gathers as much information about it as is available from databases hosted by WindowsMedia.com, including the name of the artist, composer, and track titles. You can use Media Guide to search the Internet for additional information about the artist and the CD you are playing, such as the artistÆs biography and discography, reviews, and related artists.
If you areconnected to the Internet and play a CD for which there is information, a subset of the information is stored on your computer so that the information is available to you when you play the CD again without being connected to the Internet.
If information about the CD is not available (you have a rare CD, for example), or your computer is not connected to the Internet, Windows Media Player displays the track number as the title.
If the correct artist or track titles do not appear in Now Playing or Copy from CD, you can use the Find Album Info button in the Copy from CD feature to update the information. You must be connected to the Internet to use this feature. Newer CDs often contain information that makes it easier to locate the track titles and other information that you want on the Internet. You can also add or edit the information about a CD to the database hosted by WindowsMedia.com.
