To set parental control for DVDs

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the DVD tab.
Select the Parental control check box.
In Select a rating, click the highest-rated movie that you want to allow users to view without entering an administrator user name and password.
For example, click PG to allow users to only view movies that the Motion Picture Association of America has either rated as PG, G, or not rated at all. If a user tries to view a movie or segment rated higher than PG, the movie or segment does not play until the user enters a valid administrator user name and password.

You must set up Windows user accounts and passwords to use DVD parental control. If you do not set up appropriate user accounts, the DVD parental control setting does not take effect. For more information about setting up user accounts, see Windows Help.
Parental control settings have no effect on discs that do not support ratings.
To play DVDs, you must have a DVD-ROM drive, and a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer. If you do not have a compatible DVD decoder installed, DVD-related commands, options, and controls do not appear in the Player and you cannot play DVDs. By default, Windows does not include a DVD decoder. For more information about DVD decoders, see Windows Help.
