Changing DVD viewing options

Some DVDs support closed captions, subtitles, multiple language soundtracks, and other viewing options.

This section covers:

• To turn on captions or subtitles
• To change the caption or subtitle language
• To change the soundtrack language
• To change the default DVD menu language
• To change camera angles

Notes

• Player performance may degrade when displaying subtitles or closed captions on computers with limited video memory.
• To play DVDs, you must have a DVD-ROM drive, and a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer. If you do not have a compatible DVD decoder installed, DVD-related commands, options, and controls do not appear in the Player and you cannot play DVDs. By default, Windows does not include a DVD decoder. For more information about DVD decoders, see Windows Help.
