Using OmniPage Professional With Your New Microtek Scanner

- OmniPage Direct and Windows 95

If you received OmniPage Direct with your scanner, you may need to upgrade 
your OmniPage Direct to OmniPage Limited Edition.  OmniPage Direct is a 16-bit
program which requires a 16-bit wordprocessor in order to work.  
OmniPage Limited Edition is a 16-bit application.  It works under
Windows 95 because it is a stand-alone application and does not require 
a word-processor to run.  Call Caere Corporation at 800-654-1187 for upgrade
information. 

- OmniPage Pro and Other Caere Products 

In order to make OmniPage professional work with ScanWizard, you need to add
the following section to a file called Scanmgr.ini which resides in the
C:\WINDOWS\CAERE directory of your hard disk.  Or you can copy the SCANMGR.INI
file which is on disk #2 of ScanWizard to this directory overwriting the
previous file.

You can use Windows notepad to edit this file by choosing the Run option and
typing Notepad and then pressing the Enter key.  You can then choose File, 
Open from notepad and type in C:\WINDOWS\CAERE\SCANMGR.INI for the filename
to open.  Go to the bottom of the file and type all the above information.
