Accessing Information from the Help Menu
In addition to the Help system, the Help menu in the Avid application provides other types of online information. The following table describes the Help menu choices.

Starts the Help system.
Shortcuts
Displays a list of topics that describe keyboard shortcuts for operations on your Avid system.
Read Me
Displays the ReadMe document. The ReadMe contains the most current information on the hardware and software requirements for your Avid application, as well as other important details about your application.
Online Library & Tutorial
Displays the opening screen of the Avid online library CD-ROM or the Avid Online Tutorial for your Avid application, if you inserted the proper compact disc into your CD-ROM drive.
The Avid online library CD-ROM includes all software documentation in Adobe Acrobat Reader format. Use the opening screen to access any manual. For information on getting the best performance, click "Using This Collection."
The Avid online tutorial CD-ROM takes you step by step through all the main procedures in creating a video sequence. Use the opening screen to run any part of the tutorial.

  Do not access a CD-ROM while you are running a time-critical operation, such as capture, render, or play.
Product Registration
Allows you to register your Avid Xpress DV system by completing either an online form or a printed form.
Opens the Avid home page. From this page, you can access all kinds of information about Avid, including technical support.
About
Displays the name and version of the product, along with license information.
