FireWire is a peripheral standard for transmitting data, invented by Apple
Computer, Inc. The standard has become a cross-platform industry
standard called IEEE 1394. Sony Corporation also uses the IEEE 1394
standard and calls it i.LINK. The transmission standard is referred to as
IEEE 1394 (1394) in this document.
