Installing Fonts
You can apply any font that is installed on your system when creating titles in the Title tool. For more information on installing fonts, see your system documentation.
When installing and using fonts, consider the following:
If you want to apply a special font that is not currently on your system, you must install the font first before creating titles.
If you are bringing a project from another system, check to make sure you have installed any fonts used in titles contained in the project. These fonts must match exactly (you cannot use variations of the font in the same font family). If your system does not recognize a font contained in a title, the Font Replacement dialog box opens to enable you to substitute an alternate font.
If you are bringing a project from a system on one platform (Windows or Macintosh) to another on a different platform, you might need to substitute a new font for an existing font in the project. Windows and Macintosh fonts sometimes differ even when they have the same name. If your system does not recognize a font contained in a title, the Font Replacement dialog box opens to enable you to substitute an alternate font.
If you intend to create titles with font sizes of 128 points or larger, use TrueType fonts. Some non-TrueType fonts cannot display consistently at sizes of 128 points or higher.
