Adjusting Shadow Softness On-the-Fly
You can adjust the shadow softness value of a title object on-the-fly either by entering different values in the Soft Shadow dialog box or by using the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys.
To adjust shadow softness on-the-fly using the Soft Shadow dialog
box:

Select one or more objects in the Title tool.

Select Object > Soften Shadow.

Type a number in the Shadow Softness text box to represent a degree
of softening.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you are satisfied with the effect.

To adjust shadow softness on-the-fly using the Up Arrow and Down
Arrow keys:

Select one or more objects in the Title tool.

While pressing and holding the Shift and Alt keys (Windows) or Shift
and Option keys (Macintosh), press the Up Arrow and Down Arrow
keys to adjust the softness value incrementally until you are satisfied
with the effect.
