Creating a Simple Nested Effect

To create the nest:

Create a sequence, and add a segment effect.

Click either of the Segment Mode buttons (Extract/Splice-in or Lift/Overwrite) below the Timeline, and then double-click the segment.

Edit new footage into the nested tracks, and apply additional effects as necessary.

Double-click the main track for the nested effect to close the nested tracks again.
