| Toggle Digital Video Out button (real-time effects enabled) |
You can toggle real-time effects on and off on systems that are not connected to an Avid Mojo DNA.
When real-time effects are enabled, the Toggle Digital Video Out button in the upper right corner of the Timeline displays a glowing green dot. This is referred to as Green Dot mode. When real-time effects are disabled, the button displays a blue dot. This is referred to as Blue Dot mode.
Use Green Dot mode when you want to preview real-time effects on a system without an Avid Mojo DNA attached. Use Blue dot mode when you want to play directly to a DV device attached to your system via a 1394 connection (also referred to as FireWire or i.Link connections). All effects must be rendered for playback in Blue Dot mode. You can step through an unrendered effect but the system ignores unrendered effects during playback. For example, unrendered transition effects play as cuts.

Blue Dot mode only supports playback of DV 25 media.
