Exporting from a Third-Party Application
To export files from a QuickTime compatible application or an AVI compatible application on a Windows system for import (or reimport) into your Avid system:
1.  Make sure the applicable codec is installed on the workstation. See Installing an Avid Codec on Other Systems.
2.  Follow the export procedure according to the procedures used by the particular software.
3.  When you get to the step where the standard Export Settings dialog box opens, select the applicable Avid compressor.
For QuickTime exports, most applications have format options similar to those described in Export Settings: Quick Time Movie Export. Make sure you select settings that are compatible with your existing media on the Avid system.
You must specify a 601 video frame size in the third-party application or you cannot use the Avid codecs.
If you select a nonstandard frame size, your Avid system does not import the file quickly.
4.  Complete the export.
