If you use the Media tool to delete selected media files, you no longer have
access to visuals of the deleted material. If you load a clip for which a
media file has been deleted, a blank screen appears with the message
"Media Offline." If you need to use those clips again, you must recapture
from tape.
Depending on your needs, you can do one of the following:
Delete selected audio or video media files associated with a clip and
retain other media files.
Delete entire sets of media files and related clips from within the
Media tool.
Delete all unrelated media upon completion of a project, and retain
only the media required for playback of a finished sequence as
described in Consolidating and Transcoding Media.
