Using the Console Window to Access Network Drives
Your Avid application can access network drives that you have mapped to your Avid editing system. Once your network drives are mapped, typing in the console command displays the mapped drive letter in the appropriate tools in the Avid application.
For information about mapping dives to your computer, see your Windows or Macintosh documentation.
When the feature is turned on, the mapped drive letter appears in the Target Drive pop-up menu. When you turn the feature off, the mapped drive letter is dimmed. If you quit and restart the application, the mapped drive letter does not appear in the Target Drive pop-up menu.
Network drives are available only if the Filter Based on Resolution option is not selected in the Media Creation settings. For more information, see Setting Media Creation Resolutions and Selecting Drives.
To make your mapped network drives available:
1.  Select Tools > Console.
The Console window opens.
2.  In the Console command line, type:
alldrives
3.  Press Enter (Windows) or Return (Macintosh).
Network drives are now visible in the Avid editor application.
Typing alldrives in the console window turns this feature on and off.

Some features described in Help are available only in Avid Xpress Pro or Avid Xpress DV. For more information about Avid Free DV go to
