Understanding the Settings Scroll List
The following table briefly describes each item in the Settings scroll list, and lists where you can find additional information on a particular item. For information about options for any of the settings dialog boxes, see Settings Options.

Audio
Sets the default audio pan; contains
audio scrub options and audio setup parameters.
Audio Project
Sets parameters for audio project setup.
Bin
Sets the Auto-save preferences for bins, Avid Attic preferences, and other bin parameters.
Bin View
Selects and formats the information displayed in bins.
  You cannot modify bin views from the Project window.
Capture
Defines how the Avid system captures and batch captures in specific situations.
Correction
Sets parameters for color correction.
Deck Configuration
Configures channels and decks into the system.
Deck Preferences
Sets preferences that affect all decks configured into the system.
Desktop Play Delay
Lets you adjust the offset between audio and video playback.
Export
Sets parameters for file export.
Film and 24p
Sets essential parameters for accurately capturing, tracking, and editing source material for matchback projects.
  Film settings are available only with AvidáXpress Pro. See Using Film Options.
General
Defines default values such as the default starting timecode.
Import
Sets parameters for file import.
Interface
Defines the appearance and function of certain interface elements.
Keyboard
Displays the default keys on the Keyboard palette and any mapping you do to the Keyboard palette.
Marquee Title
Lets you specify settings for the Marquee Title tool.

  The Marquee Title tool is available only with AvidáXpressáPro.
Media Creation
Sets video resolution and selects drives for capturing, creating titles, importing, and performing audio and video mixdown.
PortServer
Sets up the LANshare client so its workspaces are recognized.
Render
Sets the Render Completion sound, and controls how motion effects render.
Safe Colors
Sets the safe color parameters for the Color Correction tool.
Script

Sets the default display options for scripts imported using script integration.
  Script Integration is available only with AvidáXpress Pro. See Using Film Options.
Sound Card Configuration
Allows you to map audio input sources directly to the output sources available with your audio hardware.
Timeline
Contains general Timeline preferences.
Title Style
If you save a title style while you are using the Title tool, Title Style appears in the Settings scroll list.
Trim
Customizes the Trim mode
environment.
Video Display
Allows digital camera video input; enables support of cameras with video input; sets the mode and source for desktop video; enables Client monitor; sets effects preview options.
Workspace
Enables you to associate settings and windows with a workspace.
