Only the odd harmonics are used. Each consecutive odd harmonic has about 1/3rd the amplitude of the previous one.

Saw tooth

All consecutive harmonics are approximately 2/5th the previous amplitude.

Pulse

This would tear up your stereo set :) Every amplitude at maximum will make a pulse of maximum amplitude appear at the start and end of each wave.
