Select and copy text |

1. | Select the Select Text tool , and do one of the following: |
| ΓÇó | | Click to create an insertion point at the beginning of the text to be selected, and then drag to the end of the text to be selected. |
|
| ΓÇó | | Click to create an insertion point at the beginning of the text to be selected, and then Shift-click to create an insertion point at the end of the text to be selected. The intervening text is selected. |
|
| ΓÇó | | Double-click to select a word. |
|
| ΓÇó | | Triple-click to select a line of text. |
|
| ΓÇó | | Click four times to select all text in a page. |
|
| ΓÇó | | To extend a selection, press Shift and move the arrow key in the direction of the required extension. |
|
| ΓÇó | | Drag a selection rectangle over a block or column of text. |
|
2. | Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS), and choose Copy to Clipboard. |
To use the Hand tool to select text, select the Enable Text Selection for the Hand Tool option under General Preferences. |
Note: If the PDF document was created using a scanner, or if the text is part of an image, text may be recognized as an image rather than as characters that you can select. |
