Defining automated scan modes

To view the "Automation" configuration screen options, open Ad-aware and then click the "Settings" quick launch button at the top right to display the "Settings" main menu.

Now click the "Automation" button to open the Automation-settings window.

Startup scan mode settings

	·	"No Automated scanning" - This will turn automation off in Ad-aware.
	·	"Use my default scan settings" - This setting will use your pre-configured scanning preferences for the startup scan. Use the "Customize" hot link to open the "Scan Settings" main window to change your defaults.
	·	"Perform quick system check" - Quickly scan your memory and registry to discover if you need to perform more extensive scanning.

Startup Action

	·	"Clean Automatically" - Ad-aware will scan and then remove any targeted components without asking for the user's verification or input.
	·	"Close Ad-aware after startup scan" - This option will close Ad-aware after the startup scan has been completed.

Ad-watch startup

	·	"Start Ad-watch minimized" - Ad-watch will launch minimized to the task bar.
	·	"Start Ad-watch in auto-blocking mode" - Ad-watch will automatically block all suspicious activity.
