Protect your music and data file collection with SmartSplit. SmartSplit burns files to *CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW media, deciding for you, how to optimally group files on to multiple CDs. This is especially useful if you need to back up a large music collection and one CD isn't enough.

Scenario

You have 1,000 high-quality MP3 files (or other data files) that you need to back to several CDs.

  1. Select your music folder in Windows Explorer.

  2. Drag and Drop it into the Burner Plus window.

  3. Click the SmartSplit button. Your files will be divided among multiple disks.

  4. Click Burn.

 

Using SmartSplit

You can use SmartSplit for Audio, MP3, or Data disks (Note about audio disks). There are several ways to add files into the Burner Plus window.

  1. Add files (by doing one or more of the following):

    1. Click the Add button in the Burner Plus window to open Playlists, or Windows Explorer.

    2. Open a Playlist from the Player and click the Burn  button.

    3. Click the Explorer button to search for and add files... or ...

    4. Drag and drop files from My Library.

  2. Split among multiple disks

    1. Click the Split button. Files will be allocated onto the required number of disks.

  1. Burn the disk(s)

    1. Click the Burn button to burn each disk.

    2. Once a disk has completed, remove it, insert another blank disk, and click the Burn button to continue to the next disk.

 

Options

Name Disk

The first disk will start with the name, Disk 1_a. Subsequent disks will be Disk 1_b etc..   Rename the disk label by right-clicking on the label and select Rename disk. Type in the preferred name and hit Enter to save.

 

Rename Files

You can rename files on a disk prior to burning it by selecting the file(s), right-clicking and selecting Rename file

 

Arranging files on disks

You can arrange files from disk to disk by clicking the file(s), then drag and drop them to the desired disk. Tip

 

Folders

Create Folders to help you organize your files into albums, graphics, etc.

  1. Right-click on the Disk Label and select Create folder. You can rename the file by right-clicking on it.

  2. Drag and drop selected files into the new folder.
