Full Project Description:
Students are challenged to design, construct and test solar water heaters. All data will be posted on the site at project's end and results compared. Relevant curriculum to prepare for the project is included, as are extension activities for more advanced classes

Objectives:
To apply knowledge of radiation, absorption and conduction of energy to the design, construction and testing of solar water heaters. Students should be able to compare results from locations around the world and draw conclusions as to causes of the relative effectivenesses of the water heater designs. Extension activities permit examination of geographic variables that affect the results.
