Project Title: Factors That Influence Gas Prices

Project Begin & End Dates: 5/07/01 to 6/01/01

Project Summary:
We will chart the prices of gas in the month of May to put into a spreadsheet. This will be collected on Monday and on Friday and emailed to me each week. A summary will be expected to analyze the reasons why the price went up or down.
Memorial Day, a boycott against Exxon, and the upcoming summer travel can be factors that might

Full Project Description:
Each teacher will divide the students into groups of 4. Each of these children can gather data on the price of gas each week and the other two can enter data into a spreadsheet. Each class can check the price on Monday and on Friday at Exxon and one other cheaper gas station such as Citgo
or Wilco. Some of the children can write the final
summary stating three reasons why the prices went up or down.

Objectives:
To study the concepts of supply and demand as well as learning about producers and consumers. We will encorporate technology skills such as entering data into a spreadsheet. Finally, we will
make obsrvations and analyze the data.
