Subject: Weather and Sport - class links in to the Sydney Olympics!

Hello everyone,

Project Atmosphere Australia Online is conducting weather activites through
September into early October, around the Olympics games in Sydney. Converse
with experts and people at the Olympics in Australia, communicate with other
schools around the world and publish student work on the internet!

Our focus will be 'weather and sport' and we will be:

* Looking at how the weather plays a large part in the planning and
preparation for the Olympics and the running of day to day events at a
management level. Much goes on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

We will have weather and environmental health experts in Australia online to
email schools and report on weather and conditions during the Olympics.
Resources will also be made available on line.

* Finding out how weather plays a large part in the preparation and
performance of athletes. 

We are working toward having some athletes available to share email with
schools.

* The usual exchange of weather reports, folklore, writing, artwork,
photograhy, and simple forecasting activities and more through our 5 email
lists will also be available and student work will be published at the web
site.

Project Atmosphere Australia Online is in its fifth year and has recently
been nominated as a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge 2000 awards.
