To view newsgroups efficiently

Use these tips to view newsgroup messages efficiently.

To find newsgroups on specific topics

1. Select a news server in the Folders list, and then click Newsgroups.
2. In the Display newsgroups which contain dialog box, type the topic or words describing the kind of newsgroup you are looking for.

Use the preview pane to view messages

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Read tab, and then select the Automatically download message when viewing in the Preview Pane check box.

View only unread news messages in a newsgroup

• Open the newsgroup. On the View menu, point to Current View, and then click Hide Read Messages.

View the replies to a particular message in a newsgroup

• Click the plus sign ( + ) next to the message. The replies to that message appear below it. A message with its replies is called a conversation.
