Contact your Internet service provider

If you encounter a problem that cannot be solved by using the Outlook Express Troubleshooter, you might need to call your Internet service provider (ISP) or local area network (LAN) system administrator. The connection settings or account information provided to you by your ISP or system administrator might be incorrect, or the ISP's servers or software might not be working properly.

Before contacting your ISP, you can create a log of the commands that have been sent to and from your e-mail servers. This can be useful for troubleshooting.

To create a log file

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Maintenance tab, under Troubleshooting, select the type of server you want to create a log for.
