Full Project Description:
On average, children only eat 2.5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. The Fit For Life Nutritional Survey project is intended to increase student awareness of the foods they eat, or rather the food they don't eat.

This survey project entails tracking your students food intake from each of the five food group for five consecutive days. Students calculate their average intake for the week for each of the five food groups. Then, the class adds up their individual averages to calculate their class average. The final step of the project is to enter the class averages for each of the five food groups.

Results are posted for viewing on the Fit For Life Data Page. The data page also contains a listing of results from past Fit For Life surveys.

Objectives:
Increase student awareness of the foods they eat and the importance of eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
